'EUropean Coaching Innovation STandard'
also known as ACHIEVE
EUCIST ACHIEVE aims to accelerate access to early-stage venture capital for innovative start-ups. It has been established as a result of two very successful breakthrough projects.
Between 2002 and 2005 the Innovation programme's TEEE-Inn project developed a process and toolkit to assist innovative hi-tech start-ups. TEE-Inn was involved with SMEs in incubators in four European regions.
At the same time the European Investment Fund (EIF), through its Technology Transfer Accelerator (TTA) project, was looking at the feasibility of a new type of investment vehicle, focusing on financing early stage commercialisation of technology research.
The results of these two projects are the basis of the EUCIST ACHIEVE project which aims to work with a group of European incubators in the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector, via the Gate 2 Growth and PAXIS networks, helping them to give their SME clients have better access to funding and customer revenues.
The main goal of the ACHIEVE project is to:
Significantly increase the number of new innovative start-ups within the Information and Communication Technologies sector, and improve their chances of commercial success in member states.
The main objectives are:
-
to stimulate a higher growth rate of SME start-ups in the sector - crucial for a dynamic and competitive European economy,
-
to contribute to an effective system of support for these SMEs, through the incubator network across Europe, ensuring they can access funding and increase market revenues - the life blood for the success of early stage companies.
